An elegant stoneware tea bowl from Japan decorated in the 'Raku' or 'Celadon' crackle glazed style. It is a very difficult technique and the failure rate of the pots is high. When successful it is a joy to behold and easy to see why it is still as highly valued after centuries of use. This example is blue with red crackles.
