This Japanese tea caddy is made entirely of polished cherry bark. It is so beautifully made that you cannot see the join where the lid meets the body. As with all truly well designed objects, it is beautiful to look at but also perfectly functional - having two lids, it is very effective in keeping your tea fresh. Coming from a country where they take tea so seriously that they created a ceremony around it, this should be no surprise.
