At its best it could be argued that it surpasses all other coffee in the world so this should not be confused with the country’s more ordinary coffee. Without a doubt the finest aroma of any coffee due to its immense, blackcurranty acidity. Astonishingly rich, hearty and snappily, fruitily refreshing. This is the Peaberry bean, which as well as being more rare than normal types also seems to concentrate the fine characteristics too. Recently, this batch won the Specialty Coffee Association’s Blind Cupping Competition, scoring 98 out of 100 from the world’s foremost coffee experts. Considerably ahead of the rest of the very high quality coffees on offer. Some notes on the flavours included: Vibrant grape acidity, light mouth feel, sugar cane sweetness, notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, grapefruit and very clean.
