Elderflower, roses, tangerine, mandarin...just a few of the flavours and fragrances picked out by our discerning customers in this tantalising tea. Naturally, it is defined by its 'Muscatel' character but I think it is one of the few teas that is intriguingly different every time that you brew it. This plantation was co-founded by a German missionary and is located in the East Valley of Darjeeling at an altitude of 2000 metres. In 1964 Liza Hill was added to Risheehat Tea Estate as a new division. A new factory was constructed at Risheehat in 1965 to improve quality. The factory was renovated in 1977 and again in 1990 to cope with the increase in harvests. This garden has also received ISO 9002 certificate. The estate helps to run a Higher Secondary School and library for workers. In 1983 a Shiv Gauri temple was built for worship by the local people. There are 843 workers employed in the garden who are provided with healthcare, education, housing and entertainment.
