Ancestor Mt. Honey Oolong Gabalong Tea

From £8.00
Product code: 10595

Availability: In stock

This high grown, hand picked tea is grown on the Ali Mountain in central Taiwan. The special processing that increases the health giving Gamma Amino Butyric Acid content also changes the flavour of this tea too. It is very soft and mellow with a honey like quality that, health benefits aside, make it worthwhile drinking. To qualify as being a 'gabaron' tea and to give the required recommended dosage it must have 150mg per 100g of GABA, this contains over twice that amount.

Please read the leading page for a guide to its many alleged (sorry, erring on the side of caution!) properties. I drink it an hour before bedtime as an aid to a good night's sleep..it would work if it wasn't for the children!

Review by Massimino Pilotti
This is one of my favourites. I was quite unprepared for the smooth creamy feel of the infusion and the naturally slightly honey like taste that lingers with this tea. There are other flavours coming through but the general feel is of a very clean flavoured tea which you look forward to drinking again. The closest thing I could compare it to in terms of clean but slightly sweet taste, outside the tea world, is a nice mellow tawny port (without the alcohol of course!). You get at least 3 good full bodied infusions from 2g in 200ml water. If you like this tea, then the king of ginseng and honey hon cha teas are likely to please your palate just as much. With the smooth caramel taste, my six children love this tea when a little honey is added they prefer this to any other drink. (Posted on 20/03/2009)
