After returning home with a stash of tea safely tucked in my luggage, I went out searching for a teapot worthy of the ones I had met at the table of the teashop. It was nowhere to be found. After much searching and heartache, I settled for the nearest equivalent available in America, a Bodum vertical press-style pot. It served me as well as it could, but nothing has ever come close to preserving the purity of flavor that I remember from this charming, funky looking little pot. It holds just the right amount for a long afternoon of tea and a favorite book. The ingenious design also enables it to be put on practically any surface without risk of heat or condensation damage, and protects distracted hands from burns.
I have just been informed that this will be in my Christmas stocking this year, and I can tell you now that no gift is more eagerly anticipated, nor will see more use and care. (Posted on 14/11/2007)
