Jasmine Monkey King Green Tea

From £6.00
Product code: 7697

Availability: In stock

Our most economical yet far from an ordinary offer. This tea ranks at number five in the hundreds of jasmine teas available. Made in the traditional way by layering lightly oxidised green tea with Jasmine Blossoms. The higher the grade, the more times this is done with freshly picked blossoms. The process is done over night as the blossoms open then to release their characteristic fragrance. Perhaps surprisingly, the higher grades also show fewer blossoms in the finished product. It has a beautiful, distinctive, sweet flavour.

Our most economical yet far from an ordinary offer. This tea ranks at number five in the hundreds of Jasmine teas available. Made in the traditional way by layering lightly oxidised green tea with jasmine blossoms. The higher the grade, the more times this is done with freshly picked blossoms. The process is done overnight as the blossoms open then to release their characteristic fragrance. Perhaps surprisingly, the higher grades also show fewer blossoms in the finished product. Night blooming jasmine blossoms are picked in the morning with the tiny petals tightly closed and stored until the evening. As the flowers open they make a popping sound and the process begins. The blossoms are placed between layers of green tea leaves for four hours with the process repeated several times. Each time the spent flowers are carefully removed.

Customer Reviews

Review by Jim Horsfall
Excellent value for money. I much prefer jasmine to plain green tea, it is a bit more floral.

It also makes an excellent flask for a walk (as I work outdoors and can\'t make fresh tea), as there is no milk. Just make a pot and strain it into your flask. It\'s not quite as good as fresh, but much better than english breakfast or earl grey with a dash of milk. (Posted on 30/04/2010)
