Details

This is produced on the Donna Antonia estate in the world famous Boquete region of Panama. The slopes of Panama's tallest mountain, Volcan Baru provide rich volcanic soils and the ideal climate for growing coffees. We buy from different plantations according to the best quality available and only from those scoring 88 and above according to the SCAA cupping criteria. Only very few plantations can reach this standard. We source our coffees through suppliers who can guarantee traceability, fair pricing and ethical working conditions for labourers. Within Boquete, there are a number of smaller regions, including Quiel, Volcancito, Palmira, Horqueta and Jaramillo. Boquete is also known for its incredible biodiversity, especially in flowering plants. The coffee varieties we favour are the Yellow Catuai, Geisha and Bourbon types grown at over 1350 metres. Cupping notes for this coffee included berry, papaya, soft citrus, bergamot, orange peel, vanilla, jasmine, cream, papaya, caramel, toasted almonds, sweet aftertaste.
