Si Ji Chun is the cultivar selected to make this black tea, and only the best hand plucked summer tea leaves, which have a very high catechin content make the grade. The tea leaves, tight and dark black, produce a deep red, lingering liquor, which tastes smooth, sugar cane sweet and with a strong fragrance and flavour of cinnamon and nutmeg. As with all Taiwanese teas this manages to combine complex floral and fruit flavours with a rich, malty body to make every sip taste different to the last. This special tea is made in Zhu Shan in Nantou County, a famous tea growing area. It is my belief that Taiwan is now the undisputed top producer of black teas in the world. Each variety offers something so unique that they are easily told apart. Why not add Honey Hon Cha, Foshou Buddha’s Hand, Sun Moon Lake Ruby, Jin Xuan Golden Lily and Bi Yu Blue Heart to your new tea experiences.
