Sowden SoftBrew™ Infusion Pots
Milan-based British designer, George Sowden, has gone to war against industrialised food and drinks products such as teabags and coffee pods that he calls “two of the most detrimental inventions of the 20th century.” After years of designing products for other people to take to market, he detected an emerging consumer reaction against these prevailing trends and decided to do something about them. The result: The Sowden SoftBrew™ filter which fits within a porcelain pot, so that all the users have to do is decide how much of their favourite coffee to put in the filter, add water and let it brew naturally. The ultra-fine filter traps all but a few traces of the coffee grounds, thus producing a poured cup of natural, full-taste coffee. The resulting coffee is as good as the beans it is brewed from and you can finally taste the difference between a Colombian Inca and a Kenyan Lion coffee at whatever strength you might want, because you brew coffee simply, without forcing, pressing, steaming and burning the coffee beans. Coffee made by infusion, as is the Sowden SoftBrew™ system, is the perfect, simplest way, to get a cup of great tasting coffee. Or for that matter tea!
